SYNOPSIS
-Marie-Lou Fontaine, 38, director of a nursing home, introduces the ‘Humanitude’ method, but encounters resistance from the staff. She meets Mari Morisaki, 39, a terminally ill Japanese playwright, and the two women, each speaking the other’s language, become friends. Together, they share a common vision and become inseparable. Mari’s health deteriorates, and their relationship profoundly transforms the ‘Garden of Freedom’.
